Doc's Lawn Care

About Doc's Lawn Care

First light in Roxboro is the good hour — dew still silvering the fescue, the rails down by Depot Street cool to the touch, the day not yet hot enough to argue with. Doc's Lawn Care is out in it, mowing, edging, trimming and cleaning up so most yards are finished before the heat settles over the county. In this stretch of the Piedmont a lawn is half sun and half slope, and it takes a steady route to keep every one on schedule. Pulling out of a driveway with the grass level and the walks swept is its own quiet payment. Roxboro proper and the roads toward Moriah fill out the week.
