Xavier’s lawn care

About Xavier’s lawn care

Evening comes on slowly in Rockfish in July: the heat lets go by degrees, the cicadas take over, and the last of the light lies flat across the grass. Xavier's lawn care runs through that hour, when mowing is easiest on everyone — the yard, the machine, the person behind it. Mowing, edging, string trimming around trees and fenceposts, then a clean sweep of the walks before the trailer loads up. Grass in this sand grows in bursts after rain, so the schedule stays tight all summer. No mystery to it: a lawn left level, sharp at the borders, cool underfoot.
