The Tree Co

About The Tree Co

Ice, not snow, is what a winter down here actually sends — a night of freezing drizzle, then longleaf limbs sagging over the lane by morning. The Tree Co turns out for that weather around Richlands, plowing and clearing driveways and lots and treating pavement where a thin glaze does more damage than four inches ever could. Out toward Catherine Lake the roads are narrow and the shoulders soft, so snow gets pushed with some thought about where it will melt to. Work starts in the dark because a freeze on this side of the state usually lets go by ten, and the hours before that are the ones that matter. A cleared drive on a rare white morning here feels like a small event, and it should.
