Gardeners of the Galaxy

About Gardeners of the Galaxy

By the time the last mower shuts off in Reidsville, the western sky above the pines has gone orange and the first stars are showing over the fields. Gardeners of the Galaxy takes its name seriously enough to notice that, though the work stays entirely earthbound: mowing, edging, trimming, beds weeded and mulched, cleanups hauled off. A lawn cut in the cool end of the day holds its lines beautifully into the evening, which is when people are actually out standing in it. Grilling weather, porch weather, kids barefoot in the grass, that is what the cut is for. Reidsville and its neighbors, one small orbit at a time.
