About Carolina Dozer

Purlear sits where Wilkes County farmland runs up against the Blue Ridge escarpment, and the snow line often stops right about there, rain below and white above. Carolina Dozer works the upper side of that line, plowing gravel drives and lanes off NC 268 and the roads climbing toward the parkway. North slopes above the Reddies River hold their snow long after the valley lets go, so those places get repeat passes and sand where the grade steepens. Walks, steps and turnarounds are cleared close rather than roughed out and left. A mountain drive opened clean all the way to the road is what a storm here is finally about.
