Dan River Turf

About Dan River Turf

Fog lies on the Dan River most spring mornings and lifts off the bottomland right about the time the grass dries enough to cut. Dan River Turf takes the first mowings of the year in Pine Hall and on the farms strung along the river road, when the ground is soft and growth comes on fast. The routine is mowing, trimming around posts, wellheads and outbuildings, edging the road front, then blowing the drive clean before the truck moves. By midsummer a yard here can go from shaggy to squared away in a single afternoon, which is a satisfying thing to watch happen. The river keeps its own pace; the lawns stay on schedule.
