Grassy Knob Beautification

About Grassy Knob Beautification

A slow spring rain in Surry County soaks the red banks along the back roads and sets everything growing at once. Grassy Knob Beautification comes in behind that weather — mowing as soon as the ground firms up, edging the walks and drives, trimming the corners, cutting back the growth that leans over a fence after a wet week. Beds get cleaned out and mulched, shrubs get shaped, and the last of the winter debris finally goes to the truck. Knob country is uneven ground, banks and dips and stone close to the surface, and getting a yard to lie smooth across it takes patience behind a mower. When the clouds break and the wet grass throws light back at you, the whole property looks new for having been touched.
