About Troy Enterprise

By seven in the morning Parkton is already warm, the air thick over the flat fields, the freight line running dead straight through the middle of town. Troy Enterprise mows and keeps up lawns in this sandhill country, where the soil is light and centipede and bermuda will run wild between rains. The day starts early on purpose: cut, trim the fence lines, edge the walk, blow the drive off, and be gone before the heat settles all the way down. Storms come up fast off the coastal plain in summer and can put a yard a week behind, so the schedule bends and the mowing catches back up. Seasonal cleanups handle what the pines shed, which around here is never a small amount.
