Browning's Lawn Service

About Browning's Lawn Service

Every April the pines dust Oakland yellow — porches, windshields, the hood of the truck — and then one good rain washes it off and the growing starts in earnest. Browning's Lawn Service picks the weekly route back up right about then: mowing, edging, string trimming, mulch in the beds, and cleanups front and back. Under the oaks the grass comes thin and wants a higher cut; out in the open it wants a shorter one, and knowing the difference yard by yard is most of the craft. A clean edge along a walk holds its shape for days and makes the whole place look squared away. By the time the cicadas start, the route runs itself and nobody has to call.
