About Lambert's

Where NC 68 crosses 150 the town gathers itself for a block or two and then lets go again into pasture and pine. In April the dogwoods come out white along those roadsides and the evening light hangs on until nearly eight, which is a fine hour to be finishing a lawn. Lambert's handles the ordinary and necessary parts of that season — mowing, trimming, edging the walks, and laying mulch so the beds read dark against new grass. Spring in Oak Ridge arrives all in a rush and asks for someone to keep up with it. The measure of the work is a yard that looks intentional in the last of the daylight, right down to the line along the driveway.
