About K & C Tree Service Inc.

Newland stands higher than any other county seat in the East, and winter reaches it early and leaves late, with wind coming off Grandfather and fir-dark ridges on every horizon. K & C Tree Service Inc. works at that altitude — hemlock, white pine and old sugar maple crowding Avery County houses built on the only flat spot available. Removals get rigged with care on a slope, lowered a limb at a time, and the ground raked back to grass. Trimming and pruning open a crown before winter can load it, which is the surest way to keep ice from finding a weak branch. And when a storm does put a tree across the drive, cleanup is what everybody wants first; handing back a clear road before dark is a fine way to end a cold day.
