About Grindstone Trees and landscaping

Wind is the constant up on these knobs. It comes across the open crest all August, moves through the oaks and maples in a long hush, and keeps New River cooler at four in the afternoon than the piedmont ever is. Grindstone Trees and landscaping mows and trims the yards tucked under that canopy, where the light falls in shifting patches and the turf grows thin and slow beneath big shade. That kind of ground rewards patience — a higher cut, a lighter pass, careful trimming around trunks and exposed roots instead of a bulldozing sweep. Finished, a shaded mountain lawn has a particular look: soft, even, cool underfoot, with the leaf litter cleared back and the drive swept clean to the road.
