About S & S Lawn Care

New London sits where the Piedmont starts to buckle up into the Uwharries, and the ground under its lawns is that stubborn red clay that holds a mower line like a pencil mark. S & S Lawn Care works these yards through the long Stanly County summer, when the grass answers a Tuesday thunderstorm by Thursday and asks to be cut all over again. Mowing, trimming and edging are the whole trade here — the straight pass along a walk, the clean turn at a fence corner, the clippings blown off the drive before the truck pulls away. Come autumn the light goes gold over the Badin Lake country and the leaves begin their slow arrival, and the work turns to pulling them off the turf a load at a time. It is small, repeated, visible work: a yard that looks looked-after, week after week.
