About A&M Lawn Services

Morning on the Nebo side of Lake James begins under a low sheet of fog that lifts off the water and slides up the coves before the sun clears the ridge. A&M Lawn Services works into that hour, when the grass is still beaded and the first pass of the mower leaves a dark stripe behind it. Yards here run from level lots near the shoreline to ground that falls away in a long slope, and each one asks for a different line. By the time the fog burns off, the edges are cut clean along the drive, the trimmer work is done at every post and mailbox, and the clippings are off the concrete. It is lawn care in McDowell County, done so a place looks tended from the road.
