Late February the northeast wind comes over the dune line and lays the sea oats flat, and everything green on the ocean side takes a coat of spray along with it. Salt Air Lawn Care knows what that does to a lawn — thin patches on the windward edge, burn along the exposed borders — and builds the year around it: winter litter cleared, feeding as the ground warms, weed control before it gets ahead, then mowing, edging and trimming once growth comes back in earnest. Oceanfront grass will grow here; it simply needs someone paying attention to which side of the house it is on. By late spring those bare edges close back in. Watching a yard come back after a hard winter on the banks is reason enough to keep at it.
