Dockery’s lawncare

About Dockery’s lawncare

By the middle of October the ridges above Murphy have turned, and the color comes a little further down the mountain each week. Dockery's lawncare works that stretch of the year along the Hiwassee, mowing lawns that are finally slowing, edging walks, trimming the borders back tight before the cold. Autumn cutting in these hills is cool-handed work — frost in the low spots at daybreak, shirtsleeves by ten. Each pass has to count, because grass this late in the year will not grow out a mistake. A yard finished clean in that light, with the hills going gold behind it, is a picture worth stopping for.
