Coastal Land Services

About Coastal Land Services

Late in the year the wind comes off Currituck Sound with nothing standing in its way, and every loblolly and live oak around Moyock lets go at once. Coastal Land Services spends those weeks on cleanup — leaves hauled off, brush cleared and piled, ditch banks trimmed back where the growth wants to close in. The rest of the year runs on mowing and edging in steady rotation, with overgrown corners cut down before they turn into thickets. The last pass of a November afternoon is the good part: bare lawn, swept drive, low sun laying long shadows across a place that has been put back in order. Routes reach through Moyock, Shawboro, Maple and Barco, and on down the highway toward the water.
