Turn a shovel anywhere around Mooresville and you find the same thing: red Piedmont clay, heavy after rain, hard as a plate in a dry August. ECO IGS Landscaping works with that ground rather than against it, opening it up with aeration in the cool weeks, laying seed into the holes, feeding the turf so roots go down instead of sideways. North of town the streets give way to old Iredell County farm fields, and the grass out that way remembers it — thin in the ruts, thick where the topsoil stayed. Mowing, cleanups and weed control fill the weeks in between, keeping the gains from washing out.
