Fays Lawn, Land, & Tree

About Fays Lawn, Land, & Tree

Late winter strips this country down to its bones — gray ridgelines, fields gone to broomsedge, the shape of an overgrown fence row finally visible again. Fays Lawn, Land, & Tree does its heaviest work then: brush cut back, saplings taken out of the pasture edge, a lot cleared until the ground can be used for something, trees pruned or dropped while they're bare. When the season turns, the same equipment goes to mowing, trimming and keeping those reclaimed edges from creeping in again. A field near Mayo can be lost in three summers and won back in a week. There is real pleasure in watching a place reopen.
