About Carolina Brush and Land Management, LLC

A field in Anson County will go from open to grown-up in three summers — broomsedge first, then briars, then sweetgum saplings shoulder high. Carolina Brush and Land Management works that line in the Lanesboro country between Wadesboro and the Pee Dee, clearing brush and overgrowth, opening fencerows and field edges, and bringing tangled ground back to something a person can walk and a mower can hold. Once it is open, keeping it open is the easy half: mowing, trimming and cleanup on a regular turn. Red clay, rolling ground, long hot afternoons — the going is slow and the change shows by the hour. Standing at the end of a day and being able to see clear across a piece of land is the payoff.
