About NCC Heavenly Handy Man

East of Kenansville the land drops toward the Northeast Cape Fear, blackwater running slow under gum and cypress, and the humidity comes up off it early on a summer morning. NCC Heavenly Handy Man works those yards while the air is still bearable — mowing, trimming, edging and hauling off what the last storm left in the grass. Ground near the river bottoms stays damp and grows hard, and it takes someone willing to come back and cut it again rather than let it turn into a thicket. Overgrown corners get taken down to lawn and kept there. The best part of the day is the truck pulling away from a place that was rough at seven and looks squared up by noon.
