Up along the Ivy River the coves keep their shade late, laurel leaning down to the water, and the Craggies standing off to the east making weather of their own. Ivey League Landscapes, LLC works both halves of that country: mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup on steep mountain yards through the warm months, then plowing, shoveling and ice treatment once winter comes over the ridges — and up here it comes in earnest. A drive that climbs is a different problem from a flat one, in July as much as in January, and both take knowing the property. A mountain driveway cleared down to gravel while the woods above it are still white is worth getting up in the dark for. Ivy, Barnardsville, Weaverville and the roads between them are home ground.
