BB&C Lawn Care

About BB&C Lawn Care

First light on Hope Mills is soft and wet — dew standing on the Bermuda, mist over Little Rockfish Creek, the day's heat still an hour out. BB&C Lawn Care is out in it, because in a Sandhills summer the early cut is the kind cut, for the grass and for the crew. Mowing, trimming around mailbox posts and pine, edging the walk until the concrete shows a clean seam: that is the round, yard after yard, street after street. Sandy ground drains fast and the grass answers quickly, which means the schedule keeps its word or the lawn tells on you. By the time the heat sets in, the trailer gate is up and the block looks like a block that gets looked after.
