About Kenneway Lawn Co.

Summer evenings around Hyco Lake go soft and blue, and the last hour of daylight is the best hour to look at a lawn. Kenneway Lawn Co. cuts the yards on the roads that run toward the water — shoreline lots, farm places set back behind a row of pines, town yards over toward Roxboro. Mowing, string trimming, edging and a thorough blow-off make up most weeks, with leaf work stacked on top once fall arrives. Grass here runs hard in June and July, then settles, and a route learns to breathe with that. There is nothing complicated about a straight cut and a clean edge, and it never stops being satisfying.
