About Appalachian Escapes LLC

April climbs the mountain slowly around Hogback — the coves green first, then the benches, then the last cold pockets up near the gaps. Appalachian Escapes LLC follows that line uphill all season, opening the year on the low yards while the high ones are still waking. Evenings are the good hours: mower shut off, trimmer cooling, the smell of cut grass and wet rhododendron drifting downhill. The work is plain and it shows — even passes across the yard, tidy borders where turf gives way to woods, walks and porch stones cleared before the truck moves on. Come back in a week and the mountain has moved on again, and so has the mowing.
