Griffin's General Services

About Griffin's General Services

Hillsborough still wears its old bones — brick sidewalks, clapboard porches, the Eno sliding along under the trees below Churton Street. Griffin's General Services works both ends of the calendar in that town: mowing, trimming and edging through the green months, cleanup when the oaks finally let go, and plowing, shoveling and ice treatment when a winter storm glazes this stretch of the Piedmont. Yards here climb and dip toward the high ground around Occoneechee, so a level cut takes a steady hand and shows when you get it. A driveway opened before the first commuter backs out of it is a quiet sort of accomplishment. From the historic blocks to the farm roads running toward Cedar Grove and Efland, that is what the day is for.
