About Steverson's Hauling & Excavation, Inc.

Half the addresses above Barkers Creek sit at the top of something, reached by a road that switches back twice and never sees the sun in January. Steverson's Hauling & Excavation, Inc. is out on those before the school buses run, blade down, sand ready for the curve everyone in the family calls the bad one. Snow removal in this country is as much about traction as about clearing: take the white off, then make what is left grip. Turnarounds get opened wide so nobody has to reverse down a grade in the dark, and walkways get shoveled to the door rather than to the general vicinity of it. When the ridges go pink at the end of the day, the way in and the way out are both open.
