Womble Lawn & Grading

About Womble Lawn & Grading

After a hard rain, Chatham County red clay tells you everything: where the water runs, where it stands, where a yard sags half a foot and nothing wants to grow. Womble Lawn & Grading reads the ground first and mows to it — cutting, trimming, edging and cleanup that follow the contour instead of fighting it. Turf out here does best when the low spots drain and the high shoulders are not scalped, so height and pattern change with the lay of the land. In March the clay finally lets go of winter and the whole place greens at once. Keeping it even from there is steady, satisfying work.
