Kingboy Lawn Service

About Kingboy Lawn Service

A July afternoon in Grimesland is a wall of heat and cicadas, dust hanging over the dirt roads long after a truck has gone by. Kingboy Lawn Service works straight through it, mowing, trimming and edging while the sun does its worst, then blowing the drive clean at the end. By dusk the fireflies come up out of the cut grass and the yard sits there squared and quiet, which is the reason anybody keeps at this in August. The route runs from small-town lots to acre-and-up properties out toward the fields. Grass grows nearly all year in this corner of Pitt County, and the mower stays hitched.
