Van Dyke's Lawn Care

About Van Dyke's Lawn Care

An October evening in Goldsboro: a freight easing past the old station downtown, the light going copper across the yards on the north side of town. Van Dyke's Lawn Care runs the last cuts of the year in that hour — mowing, edging, trimming, and leaves gathered off the grass before they mat down and smother it. There is a particular order to a yard put to bed properly for the winter, and it shows in March. The rest of the year it is simply the weekly pass: same height, same lines, walks left bare. Easy enough to describe; it takes doing every single week to actually look like that.
