About Stokes Enterprises

October does its work quietly around Gold Mine. The loblollies let their straw down over everything, the hardwoods follow a week later, and a lawn can go missing under all of it in a single afternoon. Stokes Enterprises spends that stretch of the year clearing leaves, raking straw out of the beds and mowing the last few times while the grass still has something to give. Cooler air makes for good working weather, and there is a plain satisfaction in a yard uncovered again, the turf showing its color and the edges cut back sharp. Come spring the mowing picks back up and the whole rhythm starts over.
