The Wood's Lawncare Service

About The Wood's Lawncare Service

Glenwood sits on US 221 at about thirteen hundred feet, six miles south of Marion, with the McDowell County foothills folding away toward the South Mountains. The Wood's Lawncare Service keeps the yards strung along that road — front lawns running down to the shoulder, side yards giving way to pasture and pine. Mornings open under a low river of fog that burns off around nine, and that is the window: cut while the ground is firm, edge the drive, clear the walks. By afternoon a yard here reads finished from the highway, the mowing lines straight, the grass stopping clean where the gravel starts. Then the light runs long over the ridges and the day's work stands there in plain view.
