Mathis Landscapes

About Mathis Landscapes

Glenville keeps its weather close: a lake held above three thousand feet, the West Fork of the Tuckasegee running out below the dam, and ridgelines that go white while the valley floors are still green. Mathis Landscapes works both halves of that altitude — mowing and trimming through the long green stretch of the year, then plowing the driveways that drop off NC 107 in a hurry once winter means it. There is a particular satisfaction in a mountain drive opened before the first headlights come down it, gravel showing, the banks pushed back clean at the turns. Come July the reward takes a different shape: an even cut on a lawn carved out of laurel and rock, holding its line all week. Same ground, two kinds of care, and both worth doing right.
