About Fairgreen Lawn Care Inc.

Around seven on a July evening Franklin Boulevard is still moving, but a block off it the side streets have gone quiet and every lawn is giving back the day's heat. That hour is when Fairgreen Lawn Care Inc. can tell how a yard is really doing — whether the fescue is holding on through the humid stretch, whether crabgrass has found the thin spots along the drive. The work is mowing at a height that shades its own roots, edging that keeps a clean margin, trimming into the awkward corners, fertilization matched to the season and weed control applied where it will actually count. Afternoon storms build west over the mountains and come across Gastonia in a hurry, and a fed, well-cut lawn takes that water instead of shedding it. The aim is a stand of grass so even it looks like one continuous surface from the mailbox to the back steps. That is a good thing to leave behind at the end of a hot day.
