Will's Southern Lawn Service

About Will's Southern Lawn Service

East of Franklinton the land rolls off toward the Tar River, and on an August evening the heat lets go slowly, one degree at a time, while the mockingbirds carry on in the hedgerows. Will's Southern Lawn Service works right up to that hour — mowing, edging, trimming, and come fall, clearing leaves off yards from town out toward the river country. Southern summers ask a lot of a lawn; cut it too short and the clay bakes it, leave it too long and it lays right over. Finding that balance week after week is what keeps a yard green deep into September. There is a plain pleasure in finishing a Franklinton lawn at dusk and watching it stand up clean in the last of the light.
