About Allen services

Head east out of Franklinton on 56 and the county opens up — long shoulders of grass, hay fields going silver in the wind, a house set back behind a screen of pines. Allen services keeps yards along roads like that: mowing, trimming around posts and mailboxes and well houses, and clearing off the debris that gathers between visits. Out here a lawn has edges that argue with the field, and holding that line takes a steady week-to-week hand. Summer heat in this part of North Carolina is patient and total, so the work starts early and finishes before the day turns mean. The reward is a place that looks cared for from the road — which, in the country, is how everyone sees it.
