About Smith's Lawn & Tree Company, LLC

Up on Haymount the streets bend with the hill, and by late afternoon the light comes down through old oaks in pieces, freckling the lawns below. That is the hour Smith's Lawn & Tree Company likes best — the heat off the day, the mower still warm, a yard turning from shaggy to squared while the shade stretches long. Grass under big canopy trees is a patient argument, thin here, thick there, and the answer is attention: cut it even, trim it close to the roots without scarring the bark, then pull the beds back to a clean line. Storms pass through Cumberland County hard and fast in summer, and the yard debris they leave behind gets gathered up and carried off. What is left, when the truck pulls away, is a block-front lawn that looks the way the neighborhood remembers it.
