The Yard Crew

About The Yard Crew

By August the hayfields around Farmington have been cut twice over and the cicadas run loud straight through the heat of the afternoon. The Yard Crew works in it — mowing, string trimming, edging along the road banks, and blowing every walk and drive clear before they load up. There is nothing complicated about the job; it is simply done all the way, every time. A lawn finished like that looks settled, and neighbors can read it from the road. Come fall the same trucks come back for the leaves.
