Sunshine of Elizabeth City

About Sunshine of Elizabeth City

First light on the river, fog lying low over the Pasquotank, and the whole of it burned off by seven o'clock. Sunshine of Elizabeth City is out working in that hour, mowing and trimming yards before the heat has anything to say about it. Midsummer on the Albemarle the sun does most of the growing and the grass does the rest; the job is simply keeping pace. Edges get run, the sidewalk comes clean, the clippings go where clippings ought to go. By mid-morning an entire street has been cut and the day still feels brand new.
