Superior Green

About Superior Green

Morning comes to Efland in layers — fog first, sitting low over the pastures off Buckhorn Road, then sun burning it back toward the treeline. This is Orange County ground: red clay under fescue, the old rail bed running east toward Hillsborough, farms and cul-de-sacs sharing one horizon. Superior Green mows, edges and trims across it, keeps beds mulched and weeded, and hauls the leaves off before the first hard freeze presses them into the grass. There is a particular satisfaction in a lawn cut across the slope so the stripes catch the afternoon, and in a walkway edged so the line runs true all the way to the road. Work worth doing, in a place worth living.
