About Pleasant Green Grass

Out along Pleasant Green Road the county goes quiet — New Hope Creek slipping along under the beeches, pasture opening between stands of pine. Pleasant Green Grass works that western edge of Durham, where lots are generous and the mowing lines get to run long. The days are made of regular cuts, trimming around fence posts, culverts and outbuildings, edging drives and walks, and blowing everything down before the gate swings shut. Ground that has grown up gets knocked back and brought onto a regular turn; beds get weeded and mulched to match. A big yard mowed square to the woods line is worth standing back a minute to look at.
