About Martinez Landscaping & Hardscape LLC

Great Swamp lies in the low, level country of Wayne County south of the Neuse, where cucumber and tobacco fields run to the treeline and the pines throw the only shade for a mile. Martinez Landscaping & Hardscape LLC mows and trims out here from March deep into December, in heat that is already working before breakfast and does not ease until the afternoon builds. That build is a daily appointment most of July — you watch it tower white above the trees, finish the yard, and load the trailer as the first drops land. The measure of a good day is in the borders: the fence line, the mailbox, the seam where lawn gives way to field. By December the sun comes in low and slantwise, the last cuts of the year are short and tidy, and every yard on the route goes into winter looking tended.
