Tarheel Turfgrass Co

About Tarheel Turfgrass Co

Dover lies flat and close to the water table — Neuse basin ground, cypress standing in the low places, and the rail line running straight through the middle of town. Tarheel Turfgrass Co mows and edges lawns in that Craven County humidity, when grass puts on inches overnight and an August afternoon feels like a held breath. Trimming runs along fence lines and ditch banks where the mower cannot reach, and cleanups pull out the limbs and leaf litter the coastal storms leave behind. Coastal-plain turf will grow thick and lush if it is cut on a rhythm, and thin and patchy if it is not. Kept on schedule, a Dover yard turns into a wide clean sheet of green from the porch to the road.
