About Morrell Davis Outdoor Services

Down East in Carteret County, Davis sits on the edge of Core Sound, close enough that the wind off the water decides how each day will go. Across the sound lies the low line of the Core Banks; closer in, skiffs ride at their moorings and crab pots stack beside the sheds. Morrell Davis Outdoor Services mows the yards of this salt-washed village, where grass grows in sandy ground and the breeze rarely rests. The work means reading the weather, catching the calm hour after sunrise before the wind picks up, and leaving every lawn trim and composed against all that open water. A Davis yard after the mower passes resembles the rest of the village: shaped by the coast and plainly cared for.
