About Freshscape Lawncare

April along the Tuckasegee is all new color — the river running high and loud, the first thin green coming up in the river-bottom yards. Freshscape Lawncare opens the season there, taking the winter's dead thatch off the turf and putting down the first cut of the year at a height that lets the grass keep its strength. Edges are re-cut where frost heaved them, the trimmer squares up the porch line and the fence, and the walks are blown clear. From then on it is a steady weekly rhythm, because Cullowhee grass makes up for a short season by growing fast while it can. Nothing looks quite like a river yard the afternoon after its first mow.
