About 4th Generation Landscaping, Clean Up and Mulching

Charlotte sits on red Piedmont clay, and every March that clay tells the truth about a yard — what got fed last year, and what got forgotten. 4th Generation Landscaping works the turning season around the bungalow blocks off Commonwealth and Central, where the dogwoods open white before the oaks have made up their minds. Winter comes out of the beds first: brittle stems, matted leaf pack, the grit that washes down a sloped front walk. Then the mulch goes down dark and even, ringed clean around each trunk without ever crowding it, and mowing and trimming pick up the rhythm once the grass finally wakes. There is a real quiet pleasure in the moment a bed line goes sharp again and the whole front of a house seems to stand up straighter.
