Snow Boss of the Carolinas

About Snow Boss of the Carolinas

A snow can come in sideways after dark and be gone by Thursday, which leaves a narrow window to clear anything at all. Snow Boss of the Carolinas runs that window around Chapel Hill — blades down on drives and lots, shovels on steps and sidewalks, salt worked into the shaded stretches that never see enough sun to give up their ice. Gravel drives get read carefully so the surface stays where it belongs. The satisfaction is small and complete: a truck swinging into a clean drive at the end of a long day. Out past the last streetlight, the open ground keeps its white a while longer.
