Crowder Lawn & Masonry

About Crowder Lawn & Masonry

By the middle of October the tulip poplars along the old fencerows have gone to yellow, and the sweetgums are dropping their spiny little globes into everybody's grass. Crowder Lawn & Masonry keeps mowers running late into fall here, because Piedmont lawns grow right up to the first hard frost and leaves keep no one's calendar. The reward is the after — a lawn raked open to the light, beds cut back, pinestraw held where it belongs and walks clear enough to see the joints in the concrete. Center Grove sits on ground that was farm ground not so long ago, and the yards still carry that shape: wide, a little uneven, worth the extra pass. Mowing, edging, trimming and hauling off what the season leaves behind — done until the grass finally goes quiet.
