About Marvin's Tree Services Inc

Castalia is a handful of streets set down among Nash County fields, with the Tar River drifting east and pecan and pine standing wherever a house has stood a while. Marvin's Tree Services works those yards and the farm places out the county roads — removing pines that have grown past their footing in sandy soil, trimming pecan limbs back off tin roofs, pruning crapemyrtles and oaks so they open up instead of crowding in. Evening is a good hour for it here, once the heat lets go and the chipper is the loudest thing for a mile. Summer storms roll up out of the southwest and leave hardwood tops in the driveway; the cleanup takes a day and gives the yard back whole. The result is easy to see from the road, which is exactly the point.
