About Spader's Edge

Noon in a Burgaw July is not subtle, and the last thing anybody wants to do at that hour is walk a straight line with a blade spinning at their ankle. Spader's Edge does it anyway, because the edge is the line that makes a yard look finished. Sidewalk, driveway apron, curb and bed border all cut to the same depth, the sod lip taken back so the concrete shows its full width again. Mowing and trimming fill the rest of the visit, then the walks get blown clean so the cut edge is the first thing you see. Pender County grass will creep right back over it, which is why the visit repeats.
